Franklin Gothic's Guide to Successful Game Mechanics
Eliciting feelings of nostalgia and fun in game design using compelling typography

What I Did: Research, Copywriting, Graphic Design, Typesetting, and Print Design
What I Used: Illustrator, Photoshop, an X-acto Knife, and Lots of Patience :,)

Using the typeface Franklin Gothic, I created a booklet that showcased the typeface in many use cases through the literary vessel of video game theory and my favorite video games. My unique design includes a window cutout that highlights and reuses the “Game Mechanics” graphic for both the cover and flap spread, creating an eye-catching element that adds intriguing pacing.
Fun Fact:
I had to glue three prints of the cover together to reinforce the tiny slivers holding the hole together (they are so prone to ripping apart)!
